Teen Art and Maker Events

For teen events that require sign ups, please visit the library’s online calendar. Find the event on the calendar and fill out the sign up form at the bottom of the event page!

Teen Craft Nights

Teen Craft Nights are a monthly program, typically held on the last Thursday of the month. All supplies are provided by the Library, but space is limited and you must sign up before the day of the program in order to have enough time to pick up the supplies. For teens in grades 6 and up.

Teen Creative Writing

Teen Creative Writing meets once a month in the tech lab for a writing session. Play writing games and work on different topics and techniques like world building, character creation, playwriting, and more! Sign up required. For teens in middle school and high school. 

Teen Maker Mondays

Teen Maker Mondays are a monthly program, typically held on the first Monday of the month. Learn and create with STEAM projects. All supplies are provided by the Library, but space is limited, so sign up is required. For teens in middle school and high school.

Teen Maker Nights

Teen Maker Nights are a monthly program, typically held on the second Tuesday of the month. Learn and create in the Maker Space! Use this time to work on your own projects or to explore, create, break, and build things in the Maker Space. All supplies are provided by the Library, but space is limited, so sign up is required. For teens in middle school and high school.

Home School Craft Club

Home School Craft Club is designed for home schooled students ages 11+. Learn and make a new craft on the first Friday of the month in the Maker Space! All supplies are provided by the Library, but space is limited, so sign up is required. 

Clipboard Makeover

Personalize your own clipboard in this workshop that is a cross between scrapbooking and bullet journaling! Registration will begin on August 1.

STEM Kitchen

Learn about the science behind cooking while making a (hopefully) tasty treat! Registration will begin on August 1. 

Mini Pumpkin Painting

Decorate your own mini pumpkin! Registration will begin on September 1. 

Cookie Decorating Workshop

Decorate Kawaii themed cookies with royal icing! Learn how to use the “flooding” method and other decoration techniques. Registration will begin on September 1. 

Comics Workshop

Learn how to craft your own original character-driven comics with Boston cartoonist LJ-Baptiste! Sign up is required.

Needle Felted Woodland Mushrooms

Learn how to use a barbed needle and merino wool roving to create your own felted woodland mushroom scene! In this class, you’ll learn how to sculpt basic shapes and attach them together. Registration will begin on October 1. 

Sensory Friendly Craft

Make your own fidgets in a sensory-friendly setting with fellow neurodiverse teens! Registration will begin on October 1. 

Drawing

From traditional pencil sketching to digital art, learn something new, or brush upon a favorite style! The topic for this session will be self portraits. Registration will begin on October 1.
