To celebrate Free RPG Day and collaborative storytelling games, the Medford Public Library will be hosting “oneshot” role-playing game adventures run by volunteer “Game Masters” from the surrounding communities and offering Free RPG Day free adventure booklets and other materials while supplies last! These free materials are provided by friendly local game stores. GMs will be running adventures of their choosing in systems of their choosing, with detailed information and sign ups to be made available online. Come and celebrate collaborative storytelling and tabletop gaming by weaving a tale of adventure with your neighbors!
Space is limited. Register on the online calendar for individual games or come and watch!
The Lost Mines of Phandelver for D&D 5th Edition
GM: Richard Bouchard – I started roleplaying with Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition in 1993, and currently play and run games using the current 5th Edition system. I’ve run games for all ages and love seeing the creativity and ingenuity that new players bring to the table.
Game: I’ll be running the first part of a larger adventure called Lost Mines of Phandelver, a great introductory Dungeons and Dragons adventure set in the classic Forgotten Realms setting. This adventure can be run for up to five players and will use pregenerated characters so that we can quickly jump right in. The module is written for players of all experience levels and is a great starting point for anyone interested in D&D or other role playing games. To start this adventure, your party has been hired by an old friend to escort a wagon of supplies to the frontier town of Phandalin. While the road ahead may be well-travelled, monsters, bandits, and magic are all perils that you face when you travel in the Forgotten Realms!
