Calling all theatre-lovers- MPL is beginning a new play-reading club! We can’t go to the theatre, but we can explore some together, led by local actor/teacher/director Jen Lewis. Readers will receive an electronic copy of a script every month, and we will gather on Zoom on Second Wednesdays, 7-9:30 to read it aloud and discuss. The first two plays are available through the Library’ Hoopla ebook platform. Sign up for Hoopla at https://www.hoopladigital.com/.
Participants can join as an actor or audience for any show. Those wanting to act will submit a form with their role requests at least a week ahead of time and roles will be distributed by lottery per request. Scripts are chosen to reflect the breadth of American theatre in the last 50 years, dealing with issues of relevance to Medford, with at least 50% women+ writers and at least 50% BIPOC writers. A Facebook group will allow for additional discussion. Join us!
