Volunteering

Libraries are a reflection of their community;  you are why Medford Public Library is the best!

We love all the support our community gives us. You can help the Library just by using it. Some of our funding is calculated by how much use the Library gets so the more you use the Library, the more the Library can give back to the community!

If you would like to financially support the Library, please check out either the Friends of Medford Public Library or the Medford Public Library Foundation. These two organizations supply nearly all of our program funds.

If you would like to volunteer your time, we have several options! We have volunteer shelvers who help us put books back on the shelf. We have folks who help us edit and update our local history site. And we have volunteers who share their knowledge and love of crafting. If one or all of those volunteer opportunities sound great, please fill out the form below. All these opportunities have a training or on-boarding session but we need to get you to the right one first!

Starting in the 6th grade, tweens and teens have the opportunity to volunteer in youth services. Because we know how many time constraints teens have, we have digital opportunities as well as in person options. Teens can write book reviews, create bookmarks, run their own book clubs and more. Throughout the year, various events occur where we need teens to help create decorations, set up rooms, and help run events. We are so fortunate to have many teens interested in volunteering with us, but because training is required for in person volunteering, we cannot accept walkins. All teen applications and requirements can be found on the teen volunteer opportunities page which is updated as positions become available.
