Libby is a free app that unlocks thousands of ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines you can enjoy on your phone, tablet, or computer. Everything you borrow or place on hold shows up together on your “Shelf,” and just like with physical media you borrow from the library, there are never late fees, except with Libby, the books return themselves!
How to Use Libby
Once you’ve added your card (quick steps below), tap “Search” or browse the Library screen for something to read. When a title catches your eye, tap “Borrow.” It then appears on your Shelf, ready to open, and the app downloads it over Wi-Fi so you can read or listen offline. Magazines are always available and don’t count toward your 10-title check out limit. If you’d rather use your computer, everything works in a web browser at LibbyApp.com, too.
Power User Features
- Master your holds. A hold is your place in line for a title that’s checked out. Libby will alert you when it’s your turn (in the app or by email), and you’ll have three days to borrow it. Not ready? Suspend the hold: you’ll keep your place in line, and it won’t be delivered until you unsuspend it.
- Pick up where you left off. Setting up a second device? Choose Recover Your Data instead of starting fresh, then link it to your first device (Menu → Copy To Another Device). Your loans, holds, tags, and reading progress will stay in sync.
- Explore the extras. Stream courses, films, and concerts with Libby Extras, or send ebooks to your Kindle.
How to Log On
- Get Libby from the App Store, Google Play, or the Amazon Appstore (Fire tablets), or open LibbyApp.com in your web browser.
- Find your library. Tap Yes when asked if you have a library card, then tap Search For A Library, type 02155, and choose Minuteman Library Network.
- Sign in. Tap Sign In With My Card, choose Minuteman Library Patrons, and enter your card number and PIN. That’s it!
