Memoir-writing workshop with local writer Judah Leblang
Seven Tuesdays: February 22 to April 5, 6:30-8:30 pm at the library
In this course, open to writers or aspiring writers at all levels of experience, we will:
-Discuss the process of writing memoir pieces and what makes a good story
-Look at examples of short memoir vignettes and discuss what makes them effective
-Refine your pieces in a workshop format and receive supportive/constructive feedback
-Complete a series of in-class writing exercises
-Expand your understanding of the craft of writing memoir/creative nonfiction
-Develop or strengthen your writing practice.
-Have fun while learning
Judah Leblang is a writer, storyteller and teacher who divides his time between Boston and Medford. He is a columnist for Bay Windows, Boston’s LGBT newspaper, and the author of the new memoir “Echoes of Jerry.” He teaches nonfiction writing at GrubStreet, Literary Cleveland and other venues.
