Internet Access

Public internet computers are available in the Reference Department, and filtered internet access is available in the Children's Department.

In the Reference Department, users may sign up for a computer in half hour increments, with a limit of two hours per person per day.

To use an internet terminal between 2:00-5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday you will be asked to leave a Minuteman Library Card at the Reference Desk. After February 6, 2007, no other forms of ID will be accepted. Out of state visitors must present a driver's license or state ID.

  • The library computers are not configured for word processing or downloading functions. They do not take discs or USB devices. Because of security software, some functions may be unavailable. Please see the Reference Librarian for a list of locations where unrestricted word processing and other services are available.
  • Wireless Internet service is available and patrons are welcome to plug in laptops in the Library. Outlets are located by the windows on the High St. side of the building.
  • Printing: Color printers are attached to the internet terminals. The cost of printing is .25 per page. Paper is available at the Reference, Information, and Children's Desks. Printing charges cover the cost of printer ink and supplies.

Children's Department Computer Guidelines

  • Homework and research use only between 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. No games are allowed during these hours.
  • Only one person at a time may use a terminal.
  • Color printing is available. Cost is .25 per page.
  • The Children's computers are not set up for word processing.
