Tusday Night Book GroupThe Tuesday night group will meet second Tuesday night from October through May. This year, the group will be reading recent books set in foreign countries.
October 9 -- A Kiss for Maddelena by Christopher Castellani
Drama Discussion GroupThe Drama Discussion Group will meet the fourth Tuesday evening of the month at 7:00 p.m. There will be no meeting in December.

Writer's WorkshopThe Medford Public Library's Writer’s Workshop will continue this Fall on Wednesdays, September 26, October 31, and November 28 at 7:00 p.m. The group is looking for new members so here’s your chance to meet your community's fellow scribblers of fiction, non-fiction, weblogs, and other literary endeavors. Lisa Nadile is the Associate Editor for the National Fire Protection Association's print and Web publications. A journalist with over 15 years experience, she is also a blogger and fiction writer. Coffee and BooksMark the second Friday of the month on your calendar for our popular library book review sessions. We try to talk about something for every taste, so drop in and see what’s new. The Fall sessions will be held in the Magoun Room at 10:00 a.m. on Fridays, September 14, October 12, and November 9. Drop by to enjoy some coffee, learn about our new books, and have some laughs. It’s a great way to spend a morning! |
Wednesday Morning Book GroupThe Wednesday group meets at 10:00 a.m. on the third Wednesday of each month from October through May. Books to de discussed this year are as follows:
October 17 -- The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
Poetry Discussion GroupThe Poetry Discussion Group will meet at 6:45 p.m. on the first Monday of the month from September to June. Join us on September 10, October 1, November 5, December 3, January 7, February 4, March 3, April 7, May 5, and June 2. The group uses the books The Making of a Poem by Mark Strand , and English Renaissance Poetry. Copies are available to borrow from the library, and can be purchased if so desired. Group leader Patricia Schmieg is an editor and writer who has studied and written poetry for over 30 years. |
